Also placed in the WPJA 2010 Q1 competition. Shows the festive spirit of Rohini and Roman’s Indian/Jewish wedding in Houston, Texas.
It’s in the eyes! From Tanya and Robert’s ceremony in March 2009. I find it challenging to use a long lens effectively. Some photographers can do it really well, and only a few. Perspective is tightened and can the picture can feel too isolated. I much prefer to use shorter lenses and physically get closer….

Sometimes, just moving the camera down a wee bit, recomposing is all that is needed.
On a visit to the Austin Capitol building in 2008, I looked below and saw these school girls dancing. I chose a slow shutter and composed against a railing.
Picture of the day from Jennifer and Johnny’s wedding in May 2009. Going down Broadway in San Antonio on a double decker bus is not for the faint hearted. Low hanging traffic lights and bridges make it a little hair raising.Everyone duck…..
