New Jersey | Rockleigh Country Club | South Asian Wedding+Reception
A couple of weekends ago, I had the pleasure of photographing Deepa and Nehal’s South Asian Wedding in New Jersey. The weather was not typical for a normal sultry New York summer -just pleasantly cool. It was great to be back up there 20 years later. Many early twenty-something memories came back after spending a few years working on the QE2 between Manhattan and Southampton, England.
I loved working with this couple. I first met Nehal via an email exchange. He had discovered me down here in Texas as I used a Leica Rangefinder for my wedding work. And still do. This must’ve piqued his interest, as before long, I had the good fortune to meet Deepa, too, in a Skype call. These days, it seems I encourage more and more of my clients to Skype or FaceTime. It really is a great way to meet, especially as so many of my clients are either planning from another city, or, for example, their wedding is in Houston, and I’m in San Antonio, Texas.
The vendors were amazing. I particularly loved the collaboration with husband and wife wedding planners, Rimla and Saj, owners of Bridal Arts And Events. Film maker Joseph Minasi, is also an amazingly talented artist and a real nice guy to boot. And sincere thanks to photographer, Chris Margain, for the second shoot and for accompanying me from San Antonio.
Here are my dearest curated images from Nehal and Deepa’s wedding at Rockleigh Country Club in New Jersey. We start in chronological order (almost) at the Sheraton Mahwah in New Jersey with their cocktail party and reception.
