A couple of weekends ago I had the pleasure photographing Deepa and Nehal’s South Asian Wedding in New Jersey. The weather was not typical for a normal sultry New York summer -just pleasantly cool. It was great to be back up there 20 years later. Many early twenty something memories came back after spending a few years working the QE2 between Manhattan and Southampton, England.
I loved working with this couple. I first met Nehal via a email exchange. He had discovered me down here in Texas as I used a Leica Rangefinder for my wedding work. And still do. This must’ve peaked his interest as before long I had the good fortune to meet Deepa too in a Skype call. These days it seems, I encourage more and more of my clients to Skype or Facetime. It really is a great way to meet, especially as so many of my clients are either planning from another city, or for example, their wedding is in Houston and I’m in San Antonio, Texas.
The vendors were amazing. I particularly loved the collaboration with husband and wife wedding planners, Rimla and Saj, owners of Bridal Arts And Events. Film maker Joseph Minasi, is also an amazingly talented artist and a real nice guy to boot. And sincere thanks to photographer, Chris Margain along to second shoot and accompanied me from San Antonio.
Here are my dearest curated images from Nehal and Deepa’s wedding at Rockleigh Country Club in New Jersey. We start in chronological order (almost) at the Sheraton Mahwah in New Jersey with their cocktail party and reception.

All-Inclusive Wedding Day Storytelling
If you like what you see, reach out! I have a cool English accent; I’m dashing, handsome and funny – so my wife says. Seriously though, I love the craft of photography, I’m a former news photographer and a documentary street photographer. I capture weddings throughout Texas from a fly on the wall perspective. You’ll not notice me. My photos are candid and delightfully artistic with a splash of color and monochrome.
