Lost Mission Wedding Ceremony + Reception – Peyge and Luis tied the knot at Lost Mission, a beautiful venue spread across more than 60 acres in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. It was so nice to be back after about a year — the scenery, the light, and the atmosphere here always feel familiar yet fresh every time I return.

A huge thank you to Payge and Luis for trusting us to photograph their wedding day. It was a joy getting to know them and to document a celebration so full of warmth and personality. Their two four-legged companions, Chase and Charley, definitely had their moment in the spotlight — full of energy and excitement that had everyone smiling.

This time of year is one of my favorites for shooting. The sun sits lower in the sky, the light softens, and the longer shadows make for some really dynamic compositions — especially during those golden late-afternoon hours.

I added a few portraits of this amazing couple just to show you guys I do photograph posed pics, plus Peyge just looks so bautiful in that early evening light.

I’ve also been testing the Leica SL3-S paired with a 35mm Summicron f/2 over the past month, and it’s been an impressive setup. The autofocus has been fast and reliable, and I’ve really enjoyed exploring how it compares to the Leica M11. The M11 still holds its place in my kit — I use it throughout the day with a 50mm Cron — but it’s been interesting to experiment with the SL3-S’s handling and rendering. My Noctilux is currently in for repair, and I’ve found myself missing that signature f/0.95 dreamy bokeh. Even stopped down to f/2, the Noc has that distinct three-dimensional look that’s hard to replicate — a reminder of why it’s such a special lens. The main reason to use the SL3-S is it’s superior sensor in low light and extra couple of stops of built-in stablelization.
