Picture of the Month: San Fernando Cathedral Wedding Moment in San Antonio

This is one of my favorite images from 2025 because it feels like the exact moment a wedding day turns the page. If you know my work, you know I love frames within frames.

Inside the doorway, it’s quiet and shadowed—everyone holding their breath—then the couple steps out, and the world opens up: light, sound, city, mariachis! That contrast is the story for me. It’s not just “an exit,” it’s that shift from private to public, from anticipation to celebration.

I also love that the couple isn’t the only thing happening here. The people watching from the dark—especially the little kid—are what make it real. Weddings are a whole ecosystem, and this frame holds all of it: the witnesses, the tradition, the place, and that feeling of stepping into something bigger than yourselves.
