WEDDING ~ LIZ + FRANK

LAST FRIDAY, I HAD THE PLEASURE OF PHOTOGRAPHING ELIZABETH AND FRANK’S WEDDING.  Liz and Frank started getting ready at the Menger Hotel and had their ‘first look’ meeting  at the hotel bar before promptly downing a few tequila shots with son and daughter. This was a small, quaint ceremony at one of the Missions south of San Antonio, Mission Espada. The reception was at the Promendade Lounge above Pat O’Brians.  The biggest challenge on the day was the low light as I do not use flash.

There are a few special photos here that I really love. The shot of the couple getting into their car with a full moon over the missions and also the monk standing in the dark waiting for the start of the ceremony. I suppose that shot is not a so called ‘wedding image’, but it is a wonderful shot of a monk outside the church on the couple’s wedding day.  As a photographer I’ve learned that it’s not what you look at, but it’s how you see it.

Below are a few of my favorites all shot with a Leica M9 and a Nikon D3. Wedding planner team, Monica, Melissa and her mom were the lovely ladies from Dos Chicas helping make things go smoothly.
