WEDDING: BETH + JOHN

I ALREADY KNEW THAT BETH AND JOHN’S WEDDING was going to be special and a amazing day to photograph. Having worked with them over the last few months, Elizabeth and John have a special bond and one that is obvious when you meet them. Three years ago, I photographed her sister, Caitlan and husband J.J who were also present at their wedding. So nice to see them again and Sharon, the mother of the bride.

Beth and John’s wedding took place at St.Francis of Assisi in San Antonio, a church I’ve photographed a couple of times before. It’s a really unique layout, the alter is in the center of the church and no pew is further than sixty feet from the alter with the priest in the center of the church. The reception was at The Witte Museum.  In-between the ceremony and reception, the bridal party hung out at the local bowling alley. Brilliant use of time.

Here are a few of my favorites mostly shot with just my favorite lens, a Nikon 35mm f1.4 and a 105mm f2.8. Cameras used was a D3 and D700.  I’m really happy with these images as I’m trying to really master my favorite perspective, the 35mm wide angle. The shots from the bowling alley came out great, too.  Let me know what you think.
