WEDDING: RACHEL + MATT

WHAT A WEDDING!  Rachel and Matt tied the knot last Saturday at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and the reception was at St.Anthony Riverwalk Wyndham Hotel. This was a midday wedding, so we started very early in the morning. Rachel was giddy with excitement and a bundle of nerves as you can see below. Matt, who just returned from South Korea last month and Rachel are a lovely couple and just seem so right for each other. It was fitting that the wedding was at Our Lady of Grace as this is where they were first introduced. Congratulations guys!

The following pictures really showcase why I love to shoot weddings in my unique documentary style. I’m always looking for interesting perspectives or angles.
I want to record the day as it really happened without a staged interpretation.  My clients should be able to look back on their images and be right there feeling the same mixed bag of emotions as they had on the day.

Photographed with a Leica M9 with a 35mm f1.4 Summilux and a D3 with a 70-200 and 14-24 f2.8 lenses.

Just a side note – I’ve been very impressed with my Leica M9. It has enabled me to shoot even more unobtrusively and to the uninitiated in regards to cameras,  I actually look like an amateur photographer vs a pro, which is exactly what I want!  The  size of the camera seems to put folks at ease versus my larger intimidating Nikon D3.

Enjoy my selection of images and feel free to leave comments.
